Mindset Health: The Science of Well-Being
Do you feel happy in your life?
No one is around, you can answer truthfully.
Most of us would probably say "No" or "I'm not sure" to a question like that.
We're all busy and entertained, but ARE we happier?
Why is it that some of the richest folks are miserable and some people live on next to nothing and are extremely happy?
Happiness is something that you actively work on.
Not something you experience.
If you depend on outside actors like your job, spouse, sports team or politics to bring you happiness, it's not going to work.
Laurie Santos, a professor in the Yale world, had another idea.
She decided to synthesize all the research on happiness from the last 30 years and see what DID work.
She turned it into a class at Yale called The Science of Well-Being.
It became Yale's most popular class ever.
It is now offered online here through Coursera.
You might like to take this course yourself.
It's Free.
It's a 10 week course and it has shown some remarkable results for people.
Check it out here.
There's a podcast that goes along with it.
More recently, I developed The Happiness Lab, a podcast that has been downloaded more than 8.5M times since its launch in September 2019 and has been a mainstay on the Apple Podcasts top shows chart. The show takes through the latest scientific research and shares surprising and inspiring stories that will forever alter the way you think about happiness.
